(More customer reviews)On the one hand, Marcus Breaux's book Smokescreen, Eleven Days in September, is a book that every 911 Truther, and probably everyone who is uncertain about the origins of and responsibility for the 9/11/01 attacks on America, should read. On the other hand, the excellent and perceptive questions this talented writer and researcher and independent-minded thinker asks don't clearly answer themselves in quite the fashion he apparently assumes that they do. For example, is it really "not possible for thousands of New Yorkers to not hear the low-flying, roaring jet planes and not see them?" I agree that it's probably not possible for a plane to fly unseen low over a heavily-populated area. But, I'm not sure that no one in NYC or greater Washington, D.C. reported or recalled seeing or hearing planes fly over their cities on the way to their supposed targets that morning. I didn't hear about it, but that doesn't mean no one did. Of course, Mr. Breaux's conclusion is that there were no planes, that the images of planes striking the buildings were TV-producer generated. That could be, and it's a good question if what he contends could be determined. But his "evidence", in this and other instances, in the absence of a comprehensive survey, serves more to confuse than to help resolve the provenance of the attacks. "Is it possible," he asks, "for a high-resolution, sharply-focused video scene to contain a dull and drab image of a shiny aluminum airliner with distinctive colorful markings with the full brightness of the sun shining directly upon it? That's also an interesting question to pose, based on a possibly productive speculation by the author. But, again, how should I know? Some things he points out seem very perceptive, as well as provocative. For instance, immediately after the first strike on the North Tower, Breaux says there were not only no known images on film, but no reports that a plane had hit the building. It was only reported, he says, that there had been a massive expolosion in the World Trade Center North Tower, nothing about planes as yet The second incident, which occurred only a matter of minutes later, purportedly, though, was captured on vidootape by quite a few people at ground level on the scene, as well as by one fortuitously-placed helicopter with a cameraman, somehow suddenly all in position and prepared to instantly hone in on the unexpected streaking airlier as it hit the South Tower. So, author Breaux asks, how was it that the people who purportedly filmed the event would know to be there and at the ready with their video cameras? To my mind, that's a very good question, as are several of the others he poses.
Marcus Breaux also concludes that, since neither the collisions of the planes themselves, nor the cooler-than-necessary heat levels from the jet fuel and building content fires, nor the force of conventional explosives could have pulverized the many thousands of tons of concrete and building contents, the cause of the collapse of the three WTC buildings that came down must have been exotic particle beam or laser beam weaponry. But, his book was published in 2005, before the climactic discovery by Dr. Steven Jones and other qualified scientists of massive amounts of nanothermite in all four of the known dust samples from Ground Zero. So, I would like to know, demolition being the only known purpose for there being nanothermite, a military-lab produced exotic blasting agent, present, whether the book's author, Marcus Breaux, would agree with me and numerous others that that was probably how the still-unknown mass murderers and high treasonists responsible for 9/11 brought down those buildings and produced the gist of the illusory foreign terrorist incident that has launched us into a dark decade of illegal and unnecessary war. The far-reaching results so far have been the deaths to date of perhaps 1.5 million non-combattants and combattants and a virtual shredding of our Constitutional liberties, system of justice, and way of life. This is serious business that we need to get to the bottom of. And Breaux's analysis does contribute, though imperfectly, toward that eventual end.

The book presents a comprehensive view and analysis of the key events as presented by the national media. It is largely the content of this news and video coverage that offers the critical evidence to suggest something other than the stated sequence of occurrences had taken place on the morning of September 11, 2001. Many examples are studied that contradict the official accounts. The CBS documentary and narration of March 10th is an important one. It contains unmistakable evidence of tampering and falsification. The scrutiny devoted to the videotape scenes was extremely valuable. The detecteddiscrepancies in aircraft flight profiles and impact characteristics offered compellingreasons to examine them more closely as was done in this analysis. The decision to doso brought forth astonishing results. Likewise, the meticulous analysis of the shadows, temperature, climatic conditions and the absence of typical and expected urban activityin a busy metropolis in a morning rush hour, as shown in the CBS March 10, 2002video segment revealed deliberate tampering. In view of the manipulations of crucialdata as contained in the CBS videotape that has been presented to the world asimportant documentary evidence, the anomalies noted could not be rejected without amore thorough investigation.Compelling evidence has been presented to show that Flight 77 did not strike thePentagon. The analyses of other investigators had arrived at the same conclusion. Theavailable evidence strongly suggests that Flight 77 had either crashed at the Ohio-WestVirginia border as reported by Clear Channel Radio station KOA, or had landed at anundisclosed airport after the FAA stand down order was issued. Or it had simplyvanished without a trace. Its wreckage was not found at the Pentagon and if wreckagewas present in the Ohio-West Virginia site it has never been disclosed.Whether hijacked airliners or remotely guided aircraft struck the towers the physicalwreckage of the plane, luggage, equipment and bodies would remain as evidence oftheir use. No such wreckage has ever been found at any of the targeted sites. On thecontrary all of the evidence as well as lack of evidence points to the fact that planesmay not have been used in the strikes. An old saying goes, "Where there is smoke there is fire." The new saying of thepresent sophisticated world of statecraft and intrigue is, "Where there is smoke thereare mirrors." Global television has shown that the World Trade Center incident isawash in huge quantities of smoke. Maybe now is the time to look for the mirrors.
