(More customer reviews)Jake Schultz's "A Drive in the Clouds" is the definitive story of the Aerocar. I happened to meet Jake recently and was blown away by his passion for this fabled car-in-a-plane. Turns out Jake met Molt Taylor, inventor of the Aerocar. Taylor gradually came to know and trust Jake, and Taylor opened his personal archives and memories. That includes priceless photos of the Aerocar being built and test flown. Some of them are in full color which is definitely worth the price of admission!
What's great about this book is the truly "inside" nature of some of the information in it. It's also wonderful to know that thanks to the friendship between Taylor and Schultz, a lot of Aerocar memorabilia has been preserved -- Schultz donated the bulk of what he'd assembled for the book, to Seattle's Museum of Flight.
